Awareness & Understanding
Because what you cannot see can still change someone's life.
A place to learn about invisible injuries, emotional trauma, and the different ways our bodies and minds respond to overwhelming experiences.
Not every wound is visible. Not every struggle has a name yet. But every person deserves to be heard, understood, and supported.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
When an injury changes more than what others can see.
A traumatic brain injury happens when a bump, blow, jolt or penetrating injury disrupts how the brain normally works. It ranges from a concussion (often called mild TBI) to more severe injuries.
Understanding Trauma
Sometimes the event ends, but the body's response continues.
Trauma is the lasting emotional and physical response to an experience that felt overwhelming, frightening or threatening — whether it happened once or over a long time.
PTSD Awareness
Surviving an experience does not always mean its effects have ended.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, when distressing responses continue for more than a month and affect daily life.
When TBI, Trauma, and PTSD Overlap
Similar symptoms, different conditions — and sometimes both.
Brain injuries and trauma responses can share symptoms. That overlap can make things confusing, but it doesn't mean the conditions are the same.
